Making the Medicare Decision

The Medicare decision can be a complex one. We’re here to help you make the choice that’s right for you and your personal financial situation. All of our Financial Planners are equipped to help you make this important decision. If you feel your situation is particularly complex, you can schedule a session below with Tim Shirk, Francis Financial Planner and Medicare Specialist.

  • Do Before the Meeting:
    • Create an account at www.ssa.gov
    • Create an account at www.medicare.gov (If you already have a Medicare number.)
    • Click here to complete the Medicare Intake Form
  • Have the following information with you when we meet:
    • Social Security number (for enrollment only, Francis will not retain)
    • Where you were born (city, state, country)
    • Start and end dates for any current group health plans
    • Start and end dates for any group health plans after age 65
    • Valid email address
    • Your existing Medicare number (If you have one)

While spending 12 years as a flight instructor and mechanic at companies with no retirement benefits, I learned how hard and confusing money can be. During that time, I also learned that I enjoy making complex subjects simple and helping others achieve their financial goals.

So, I went back to school, picked up a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation, and have spent over twenty years helping people like you achieve their financial goals. To better assist retirees facing the Medicare decision, I obtained the Basic SHIP Counselor Certification.
